calling serverside function as well as javascript function on click event of a server control

Hi,
Im developing an e-commerce webapplication which have following scenario:
One <asp:listbox> which contains some items, onclick of anyitem,
one image button is created dynamically,
which must call click event on server-side, to retirve records from the database
then after it calls javascript function onclick event again  to display one div layer
which will have the records coming from the database.
Now the problem is that im able to display the div layer on clickevent by calling one javascript function but not  able create clickevent handler for imagebutton to retrieve the records from the database.

When the click event at server side will fire it will cause the post back of the page due to which the divlayer displayed by the javascript function will bcome invisible again which must not happen. how do i prevent that?

 


Please help me out with one simple Example.
