My mission is simple: Asynchronously call a server-side method every 60 seconds to check whether any changes have been made to critical Session variables. If so, then serialize these variables into an XML string and write them out to a special table in the database.
And I accomplished this! But to do so, I'm having to make the asynchronous call using PageMethods from every ASPX page in my web app. It works, but there's a lot of duplicate code. Ideally, I'd just like to make the call once from my Master Page. But, as everyone who understands this topic knows, you can't use PageMethods from a Master Page. So what to do?
