Fastest Way To Get the Path For Images

Hi,

I have recently started using url rewriting and now Image.jpg needs to have a path like ../../../Image.jpg.

I have thought of alternatives to this solution but could not decide which one is best for the performance or if there is a better alternative.

1)use the full domain name www.a.com/Image.jpg

2)put runat=server attribute and use ~/Image.jpg    -> I have heard that using too much server controls is bad for the performance

 I would be glad if someone could offer better alternatives or suggest which would be better.
