I understand that dynamic website compilation is a new feature in ASP.NET 2.0. But how does it improve the performance over deployable executable assembly? Previously, if I build a project, i get a dll which I deploy and since it is compiled code, i have better performance. But with dynamic website compilation feature, every page is compiled whenever that page is requested. Also there is no DLL produced because of this new feature. And I understand that the compiled page is cached and it has a dependency over the source file time stamp. But I still cant understand how this new dynamic website compilation feature offers better performance than the dll which was produced before?
