showing total number of months till date

Hi,
I am using ASP.NET 2.0 ,C#, Sql server 2005. 
I am retrieving the date field from the database. I want to show the total number of months from the date to till date in the UI.
For example: if date retieved from database is 12/01/2010( dd/mm/yyyy format) , I want to show as 4 months as the current month is april .
How to show the number of months?
