We currently use and licence an application which is written in MS Access using VBA code. This is installed using the MS Access Developers Kit and a run-time version of Access at clients' sites. Clients tend to install our app on a server and have users
access it using RDP - that's our preferred method.
Clients are moving to 64-bit servers and I need to know what our options are. If they continue to run our app on a 32-bit server, the app no longers prints in their 64-bit desktop enviroment. I have been directed towards SQL Server Express, not least by
this forum, but I don't have a clue what we can do with it.
Can we port our existing application over to a SQL Server Express 'environment'? What sort of code does SQL Server Express use - will our developers, who know VBA, require re-training?
I make no apologies for my ignorance! I have tried to get answers from the microsoft.com web site, and just get offered downloads!
Thanks.
