I'm using ASP.NET membership (with ASP.NET MVC) for the user's log in. However, I would also like to create a new table, which stores a password, similar to the ASP.NET membership's password column. Both passwords are separate, but I how do I set it up so that my new password column is hashed (with a salt) in the same way the standard ASP.NET membership is? Will I need to create special hashing classes to perform the work, or is there an API I can use?
