Local Error "Your account was not created. Please try again."

Hi All
I'm trying to get a custom membership provider working for an Access database per the following tutorial:

I'm currently working locally, testing with VWD 2005 Express Edition on XP Home, so I'm using F5 to test and getting a test url such as: 
http://localhost:3090/hammer/default.aspx
My connectionstring to the Access database is: 
connectionString="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\highlycreative\asp-net\security\hammer\App_Data\Members.mdb;Persist Security Info=False"
At the moment, when I try and create a new user, the login control returns the following error message: 
"Your account was not created. Please try again."
and the password and Confirm Password fields get cleared.  
Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can correct this?
