I originally wanted to use the If(Page.IsValid) in my code to keep stuff from executing if it's invalid. I'm using an object data source that calls a method from the BAL for an insert. All of my validation controls are working.
I've seen the If(Page.IsValid) in the code behind. I'm not sure if I should use it the way my app is set up. I could add some logic to the OnUpdating event to check if the page is valid and then call down to the BAL from that event handler. I'm not sure if this is worth it though.
Shouldn't my validation controls catch it with out checking the IsValid property? Should I always double check the IsValid property to be sure? Is it worth it to add this to the OnUpdating event?
Is there a better way of doing this instead of the OnUpdating event with the way my app is set up?
