problems declaring bitmap variable

 I'm trying this code but at first row

Dim img As New Bitmap("~/public/myimg10.gif")   ----> EXCEPTION problems on parameters parameter
Dim width As Integer = img.Width
Dim height As Integer = img.Height
'something else 


What's the problem in this row?
