remove metatag refresh

Hi,
 
I use threading for a process in my app. The status of the thread is update through a session in a result page. When I enter the resultpage I add a meta refresh tag from code behind so the status wil be updated every 2 seconds. In the beginning I had 1 thread and 'my solutio worked fine. Now I have multiple threads and I need to find the meta refresh tag in the header and remove it at a certain point. Does anybody have an example of finding and if it exists remove the refresh tag from my header?

So adding is now problem, but for some reason I can't get my code right to remove it.
