Hi all
This is getting a bit annoying. I've been using VS to build small websites for about 18 months now, but from about a two months ago I keep getting the error:
\obj\Debug\Package\PackageTmp\Web.config(15): Build (web): It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.
after several days of working on anything bigger than half a dozen pages. I've searched around and found plenty of others who have had the same problem, but I haven't found a definitive fix. In the past I had to rebuild the site. That would fix it for a while, but it would suddenly return after a few days. I then found that I could get rid of it by deleting the pages, one by one, as they appeared in the error message. But I don't think that has to be the best way.
Does anyone have a definitive fix for this annoyance please? ...
