I'm having problems doing something I thought would be really easy. I have a login form, and after the user enters their User ID & Password and clicks the "Login" button, I perform authentication via an internal website, call an internal LDAP server to gather user information, and query the DB and load a GridView. Because these three events could take 3 to 5 seconds (possibly more) to perform, I decided I would display a "Please Wait" label after the click of "Login" button. Being new to ASP.NET, I had no idea how complicated this would turn out to be. The closest I've been able to come to getting this to work is using javascript to display the label, however, when the "LoginCode" procedure calls the "Main.aspx" page, I start getting errors. Trying to debug, it appears that the source code in my "login.aspx" up to the "<% call LoginCode() %>;" is appended to the top ...
