i 'm trying to implement some live sport scores in my website.
i was thinkin using ajax timer for auto refreshing and some fields in the database to write/read to/from at the page load.
i wanna know if this is the way. i mean does anyone know how can i optimize it? does every live score website do sth like this? i mean accessing to the database every 5 or 10 minutes. an operator to do the changes and so on...
do other sites use caching or sth like that or they also write the scores every for example 5 minutes in the database and load it over and over. i don't mean just talking about caching. i just wanna know the technic if somebody knows
