I'm working on a project that's creating a software appliance using IIS6.0 running on Windows Server 2003. We have a section of ASP.NET 3.5 pages that we have restricted to administrators only using the basic Windows authentication, authorizing users with an administrator role, and Integrated Windows authentication in IIS.
While this works, the web page takes over two minutes to load in IE7 (while loading properly in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari for Windows). Using Fiddler to look at the packets, I'm getting the regular Windows NT Challenge/Response protocol described here (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786094.aspx), but there is a 1-2 minute delay between the first 401 response and the second 401 response. After the second 401 response, the page loads normally.
I can't find anything online about a delay, and I'm not sure ...
