contact form

I'm a newbie, trying to accomplish the following.

I have a "contact us" form which emails the results to me.  I
would like to also have all of the fields of the contact form added  as  a new record to a table in a
database.

Does anyone know of any tutorials that explain how I can accomplish this or
alternatively tell me how to go about this.
