I have a page where a user can run a search, and the results are shown on a grid. The grid is inside an UpdatePanel so that the page doesn't have to reload every time a search is run. The only problem is that sometimes the search takes a long time, and it seems like nothing is happening. I'd like to show a "Loading" image when the search is first run until the search is finished, and then I would show the grid again.
I hoped to accomplish this by simply showing/hiding a div containing the image, and showing/hiding a div containing my grid. But this doesn't seem to be working for me. Here's my code:
