I'm going a bit mental trying to get Page Methods to work on one of my pages. The WebMethod on the page is not being called when I click the button, and FireBug tells me this is because 'PageMethods' is not defined.
So far as I understand these things, PageMethods is a JavaScript object which provides client-side access to static public methods on the page which are marked with the [WebMethod] attribute. I further understand that PageMethods should be available if I have a ScriptManager on the page with the EnablePageMethods attribute set to true.
I do indeed have the ScriptManager on the page, and have tested it is in the right place by temporarily adding an UpdatePanel - [you receive an error if you try to use an UpdatePanel without the ScriptManager being placed correctly on the page]. Of course, I have also set EnablePageMethods to true.
