I've recently converted our site from .NET 1.1 to 2.0.  That is working ok, but I need to leave some apps as .NET 1.1 apps.  I know that the 1.1 apps will need to run in a different app pool.  I tried creating a new virtual directory for a 1.1 app.  I assigned it a new app pool.  I copied the web.config from the 2.0 site that the virtual directory is under and placed it in the new virtual directory.  When I try to browse to the new virtual directory, I get the following error: Unrecognized configuration section 'xhtmlConformance'.  I know that this tag was added when I converted the 2.0 app.  I removed the tag from the 1.1 web.config and run again, but I get the same error.  I notice from the error that the 2.0 web.config is producing the error.
What do I need to do so that the virtual directory 1.1 web.config file gets used instead of the 2.0 web.config?
