Hi
I have a Wizard web form that collects people's details and I save the data to an SQL table called Details.
One of the fields in Details to be populated is "County" (or "State" for people in US) that people live in.
I am using a dropdownlist choice for County to make sure that this is spelt correctly throughout the database.
Consequently, County field in Details table needs to be derived from the DropDownList choice, and this choice comes from an SQL table called Counties, which has two fields, CountyID and CountyName.
The dropdownlist and selection works in the Wizard.
But I don't understand enough about the rest to develop the code behind in C# that
a) takes the dropdownlist choice from the Wizard
b) converts it to the relevant CountyID in table Counties
c) records that value in the County field in table Details
Does this make sense? Can anyone help?
Thank you
