Call Javascript validation on UserControl

I used to have a page that had a section with a couple of fields and a button. OnClientClick of the button I called a javascript function that did some specific validation...just a method called ValidateMe()... and it worked fine. Now I've found that this little section will be re-used by multiple pages so I broke it out into its own user control (along with its javascript validation). But the BUTTON that triggered this validation previously needs to still live on the parent page, not on the control itself. How do I code it so that the OnClientClick of the button on the parent page will call the ValidateMe() javascript function on the user control?
