Temporary Datasets???

I have a webpage with 3 dropdown controls. Using these controls, mapping will be done by the user. There might be several mappings (say 10).

For each mapping, I should not have any interaction with the database, instead in a dummy dataset or whatever.

There will be a button in the page, on clicking that whatever mappings done in dummy dataset should be pushed into the database.

Any ideas on how to proceed??
