date conversion

Hi,
 
I have a stored procedure that selects all records where entryDate = todays date.
However due to the Date.Now bringing back the date in mm/dd/yyyy the stored procedure does not bring any results back.
How can I change the format of the date so that I am sending the stored procedure todays date in the format dd/mm/yyyy?
 
I have this but it seems to mess up the date
 
Dim dt As Date = Date.Now
Dim dateString As String = dt.ToString("dd/mm/yyyy")
 
it outputs the date to 24/46/2008 rather than 24/11/2008
