Adding Hyperlinks

Hello, newbie to VWD here...previous Dreamweaver user.
Okay I am creating my first page and want to create my first link on my logo image...what is the best way to do this?
Should I use good old "<a href="http://www.mydomain.com/myPage.aspx">My Link</a>"
or
use the hyperlink tool from the toolbar?
"<asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" NavigateUrl="~/Default.aspx">My Link</asp:HyperLink>"


Can someone please explain the difference to me?
