Using (more or less) the latest and greatest that Microsoft has to offer, what is the best way to go about getting search engine friendly URL's? It seems that most if not all of the previous articles written on this apply to the older versions of IIS and using ISAPI filters...which of course has some down sides.
Seems to me that with the complaints that I've read here and there regarding .NET and the fact that it is not that easy to implement SEO friendly URL's that perhaps something is out there that works. Of course the ASP.NET MVC is in the works, but for who knows how long.
Right now I'm using in the global.asx file code that works something like this:
string thePageRequested = Request.Url.ToString();
if (thePageRequested.Contains("/my-seo-page/variable/"))
{
Context.RewritePath("non-seo-page.aspx?X=X");
}
Is there a better way....something maybe that can be placed in ...
