Hello,

I'm a beginner in ASP .NET applications.

A colleague tells me that Global_asax is a unique instance for the all application and therefore I could not use it to store user session specific parameters (let's say the user's Id from our database), because then it would be the same for every user.

But I noticed that in his Global_asax example, he declared all variables and properties as 'PROTECTED SHARED' (in VB, I think the equivalent in C# is 'protected static')

On the other hand, I see the Global_asax is accessing 'User.Identity.Name', which is user specific.

So I still have doubts : Is it safe to store user session specific data in Global_Asax ?

Thank you.
