Add linkbutton dynamically in calendar dayrender event

Hi all! I am trying to add a LinkButton dynamically for each day in the calendar control. Problem is the linkbutton click event will not fire! Any ideas? My code below (and its placed in the calendar dayrender event):
 LinkButton lb = new LinkButton();
lb.Text = "Click me";
lb.ID = "TestLB";lb.Click += new EventHandler(this.lb_Click);
Cell.Controls.Add(lb);
