i want a horizontal UL list within Item template?

Hi,

I have a select query against my data table within  a datalist  and want the results to be displayed horizontally as opposed to vertical.

I have wrapped the ul in a div.  For some reason the results appear on seperate line such as

Pete

Mike

instead of                  Pete   -  Mike

I have incuded the code below if someone can help?
