I am a newbie to asp.net, and would like some tips on how to get started with this project that I have. Currently we have an asp intranet application that displays thumbnail images. Each thumbnail image is tagged with an ID. The high res image is stored on Database "B" for download. The idea is that the user will select the image and click on a download button. The user will be reedirected to a different site where the actual high res image is stored. I was thinking to pass the URL as a Query String, passing a username, encrypted password, and image ID. But maybe my thinking is completely off? Should I do this with something other than a querystring? I would need to be able to parse out the userName, password and image ID and validate against database "B". Any input is appreciated.
