I am writing an application which could be used by internal users on a domain or by users who are not on a domain (Yet).
I have created my own ado.net providers for membership profile and role which all connect via ado.net entities and retrieves required data from the database table.(Still work in progress).
I have a few questions before I start down this road, is it possible to have AD athentication and use roles based in the database? How do you link the AD account to the Roles acocunt, do I have to have each of the AD Users in the Users table with a marker saying AD user?
If I place a marker in the AD table then obviously I would use this to determine where I get the Profile Data from as I might as well retrieve their email etc from AD rather than Profile table.
Would it be best to have two classes one handling the SQL based authentication and the other AD with them being initialised in the main Provider and bei ...
