Problem with focus on button

Hello,
 on my masterpage I have a textbox for searching with an asp:button. Usually wehen typing my search item i can fire the button by pressing enter. But on my Page I have gridview and detailsview controls. And after selecting an item by clicking on the gridview (SelectCommand) My focus is on that gridview and when I try to type something into my search box I cannot fire the search button by pressing enter.
I tried to use the TextChanged Event of my textbox to set the focus on the button, but that doesn't work
 
Is there a solution for my problem ?

 
PS: After testing more I found out it is an internet explorer specific problem
