I'm still fairly new to asp and c# so I was wondering if someone would be able to help me get started on creating a search tool. What I'm wanting to do is create a search page so that users can access these and search the database which is linked to this web application. What I have are three dropdown lists - one containing a list of parameters, 2nd containing a list of files that contain these parameters and their values and the 2nd containing a list of versions that these files could belong to. So a user would choose what they want to look for from these dropdown lists and then hit a search button upon which a gridview would be populated with the search results.
Any ideas how I go about this? I know it's probably a fairly simple scenario but I'm not sure how to get started.
Any help would be appreciated.
