Since there are so many sites out there requiring a registered account to participate in, always acquiring the same username across many sites is impossible. The only unique credential is the users email address.
Therefore, I'm looking to add a feature/solution where a user can choose the login credential (username or email address) at login time. So the problem I'm having is how to authenticate using the email address.
I found a thread in this forum on a similiar subject, but the resolution was to input the email address into the username property during CreateUser(), so that the username is the email address. This direction will not work for me since my project includes a review module allowing users to participate in reviews where the username would be requred to fill in the "Review By: <%username%>, and I don't want to expose the users email address.
