I am relatively new to ASP.NET development. What I want to build is a reasonably simple website that will display web pages based on information from a catalogue of products stored within an SQL Server Database. I have researched various options for achieving this. The website is to be hosted with an ISP that has ASP.NET and SQL Server database capability. The website owner requires the capability to access the database and edit/delete exiting catalogue records and add new catalogue records, not necessarily requiring a full CMS to maintain all website page content.
My thoughts on how this could be set up was to create one or more special site administation pages that would allow the owner to login to the database and then use various built in controls and functions within these admin pages to carry out the database updates. These pages would not be viewable by the normal website visitors.
