How to provide authenication no.of users

hi guys
   am developing website in that website no.of users are there  every user contain related  data, the data should be in xml files ,
how to provide authentication every user by using xml files .how  to write xml file names in web.config in sql we can use connectionstring
,in xml how we can  write them give examples
