Hi,
I have been maintaining and updating an asp.net web application for a few months, and I am about to begin my first new application. I have a question about the use of OOP with asp.net though.
Can someone tell if it would be common practice, useful, or just a pain in the ass, to create custom controls for my site? By custom controls, I am referring to, for example, a date textbox, or a money textbox, etc, that I would have already the validation etc into. Then I would just be able to control whereever I want on my site, without having to worry about validation etc each time I use it.
Is this what other asp.net developers would normally do? I obviously will create classes to hold common functions, for example, math functions, however I am just curious about what common practice would be for UI elements.
David.
