I've been beating my head against the keyboard for awhile now ...
I am trying to access PDF files that are dynamically generated by an application on a remote web server.  I have a URL to the PDF file.  I want to popup the standard Save As / Open / Cancel dialog when the user clicks a link on my web page.  I have tried combinations of content-disposition header, response.write with with a meta tag refresh, ClientScript .RegisterClientScriptBlock, Response.TransmitFile, etc.
I would like the user to click a link, and have the dialog popup white keeping the original page displayed.  I don't want to generate the document on the initial page load, it takes a bit of time (or I would just create the link appropriately to start with).
I can't seem to find a well-documented solution for this.  Everyone talks about accessing files from remote file servers,
I don't think it matters, but I am using Master Page ...
