Response.Redirect to clickonce application - what happens next?

I know that the clickonce application starts downloading/executing. But what happens to the page executing the response.redirect? Does control move to the next line after the redirect? and normal execution from there on?
Or the execution of the response.redirect stops all further executions for that page?
PS: Redirect is without any arguments
