Hi All,
We're working on a single-sign on system that will tap into our existing ASP.NET SQL Membership Provider database, and one of the requirements we have is that we have is that a PHP script will need to be able to authenticate it's user.
So, I can think of two options:
1) If there's a way to do this in pure SQL, I could issue that SQL from the PHP script, and then examine the results to determine if the credentials passed were correct or not.
2) If not, I will need to create a service that is running inside ASP.NET that can call SqlMembershipProvider.ValidateUser(user, pass), and then return the result to the caller.  The PHP service will then make an HTTP request to this ASP.NET service whenever it wants to validate a user.
At this point I think I'm going to have to do option 2), but if there's a way to do this in straight SQL, I'd prefer that.  So far I've not been able to figure out a way.
