Display of validation summary control..?

I am using validation summary to display summary of the results

its working perfectly

i have set border for validation summary?

while  showing error? below there is two line space ar shown in my validation summary

how shall i neglect that one

suppose if i didnt use any boder or backcolor for validation summary it ok it doesnt view..

if  i used border or backcolor it shows that space how shall i avoid this

can anyone give solution pls...
