I'm looking for info on how to build a search engine that searches other sites and gets info from them. Something like trulia.com or kayak.com, but on a much smaller scale. I just want to mess around w/ building something like this as a learning tool.
Do I even build a search engine that grabs this info or would I do something like grab text from the site and scrape it?
Do you know what I even google to find tutorials on this?
Is this way over a beginner-intermediate programmers head?
