Connecting to Active Directory very slow

 

 

I'm using the LoginControl with ad for authentication, and whether its through the login control or not (I also connect elsewhere)

 

All my asp.net stuff takes forever to establish a connection to the AD server. so Logging in the first try can take over 120 seconds,,,

then the next attempt is quick... unless you wait long enough for the connection to go stale.

I'm accessing the server by IP not name, to remove DNS issues from the mix,

 

Any other ideas?

 

It's really logging in a need help fixing, but it seems to be a general connection from asp.net issue.

 

Other tools, like the ldap browser i use are lightning fast.(Softerra)
