I am trying to send mails from my Web Page. I dont want the user to wait for the Mails to send as each mail is taking some 30 seconds.
After the sumbit button of the page i redirect the user to Default page, I dont even have to show the Status of the mail send on the Web Page.
I tried few things:
1) I tried to Spawn a thread from my Web Page and redirect to some default page. Thread is aborted after some interval. I even tried to increase ExecutionTimeOut of HttpRunTime from default 45 seconds to some 300 seconds but still it was aborted in between.
2) Then prepare a message Queue and spawned a thread from Application_OnStart in Global.asax to keep on forwarding mails if any message is there. But stil thread get aborted.
Please inform me if i am missing something that is causing the problem. I can not use Windows Service as it is shared server.
