I cannot seem to access SQL Server Express R2 form a Server running Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation (SVR) via another computer on the local network (PC).
Firstly I have developed a Windows programme on Visual Sudio 2010 Express and want to have multi user (2) access.
SQL is therefore on both machines but I cannot connect to the Server one (only the one on PC). I have followed links to allow remote access i.e. enabled TCP/IP on SQL Server Configuration Manager and have SQL Server Browser running and also added the
Windows Firewall entries (even with Firewall off cannot connect).
Using Management Studio Browse for Servers lists the Database Engine I want to connect to and when then using connect I get cannot connect to (SVR)\SQLEXPRESS - a network-related or instance- specific error ......
What am I missing ?
