I'm working on an rss reader and I have a question about this ...
how the rss reader of the market knows when a new element has been pusblished ?
I cache the rss into xml file on the server and I would like to create a service which checks every 5 min if sg is new, update my xml file (or retreive everything ?) and next time a user will click on this rss feed, he ll get the new item mark as unread.
do you understand :D ?
note: I could do it with the date and the title for instance to have a "unicity" warranty but why there isn't anything like a guid or sg like, would be much more simpler...
