Allow single user access to updating customer information

I am building an application that keeps track of potential customers. Several users will be using the system. However, if a specific potential customer (say John Brown) is being updated by one user, it should not allow other users to update that potential customer's information until that user is finished.
How do I implement this in ASP.net?
