I am a complete novice and using VS10 and SQL express 2008 I have created a page which uses a drop down menu to search one field a SQL db (food Type) and return the associated data (calories, fat, nutrients, weight, etc) to the same aspx page in a datagrid. So you select "tuna" and all the instances of "tuna" in the db populate the datagrid.
Fine no problem
EXCEPT.
The Db is massive 7000+ records and the ddrop down is HUGE.
Q. How can I place a text field into the same page which will allow the user to type in "Tuna" and all the references to tuna are displayed in the datagrid. It would also be good to be able to use the predictive search thing (Same as is used in the enter tags field on these pages) but I think thats AJAX and maybe a bit too far for me at the moment.
