Reading from a multiline textbox

So, I have a page that takes data from a multiline textbox and updates an existing table in a database, but I've got a problem. When you type something into the textbox, it's as if the code can't see it or something because the cell is updated with several spaces. It's as if nothing had been typed into the textbox at all. I've tried simply doing string aString = TextBox.Text, but with the same effect. Is there something different you have to do to assign a value from a multiline textbox? Anyway, here's what I've got...
