A Question

Hello Friends,

I am new to the ASP.NET and have a quick basic question. In all common web sites, there is user name and password to get on it. I just wonder where these credentials are getting stored? I mean, let say, in this forum I created a new account with my user name, password, email, etc...then where these all information are getting stored? Is there some common standard place to store these or it depends where we want to store it?
