Good day ASP.NET Community!
I have an issue that is as follows: I have an ASP.NET Web Pages application (.NET 3.5) with customErrors turned on (RemoteOnly). Whenever an error occurs on the site, regardless of type, it will go to the Application_Error event in the Global.asax file. While this is fine, I have a situation where one of the errors is due to the page not existing (we had renamed the file from Home.aspx to NewsHome.aspx). Of course, users have bookmarked the url of http://localhost/Home.aspx. I installed the URL Rewrite module in IIS7 and added the rule
My Rule:
<rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Redirect From Home to Newshome.aspx" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="Home.aspx" /> <action type="Redirect" url="Newshome.aspx" /> </rule> < ...

Go to the complete details ...
